Last week our parent champion group ran 2 workshops about E-Safety.
There was a fabulous turnout with 48 parents attending the 2 sessions.
A massive thank you to Kate Bridgett, Tim Holligshurst and Chris Ufton from our school community who delivered two superb sessions. The feedback was very positive and it is something we may repeat next year.
Thank you also to Brigitte Barnes for making such delicious cakes and the rest of the Parent Champion Group for their support.
Thank you to our wonderful Y6 children who came to support and advise at the sessions.
Any questions for our experts please post as a comment below.
Another wonderful day at our school!
Please see the e-safety sites for parents from our workshop below.
The Parent Champion Group have planned a brilliant e-safety workshop for Thursday. It will run twice from 1:15-2:15 and 7:00pm - 8:00pm.
There are a wide range of presentations and activities and also handouts to take away. You will find the session very informative and it is free for all. I have learned a lot about e-safety already at the meetings regarding in app purchases etc.
I hope to see as many of you at school as possible.
Representatives from the whole community came together in school on the 27th September to create our Shared Vision for this year. All staff, parents from our Parent Champion Group and PTFA, governors and children worked together to look at areas we can improve over the next 12 months.
We also looked back at our successes and were able to celebrate a huge list of achievements. After that we looked at what would be positive and possible to achieve this year. All stakeholders signed up to the vision and plotted actions and next steps.
We are firm believers here in school that working together as a team and sharing our skills and abilities will help us achieve our aim to be an 'Outstanding School at the heart of the community'.
A massive thank you to Sarah Armitage for her skill in leading the session and keeping us all on task, not an easy job!!
Have a look at the pictures below from a fantastic evening.
Happy New Year to you all. A reminder that school starts tomorrow Wednesday 4th January. I look forward to working with you all in 2012; children, staff, parents and the whole community. If we all continue to work together as a team then 2012 promises to be a fantastic year at Richardson Smalley.
There are a number of ways parents can get involved with the school. The PTFA is incredibly strong at the school and organises a number of events through the year. We are a friendly bunch and always welcome new members.
Our Parent Champion group has also become a strength of the school in a short space of time. The group meets half termly and organises non-fundraising events to support the school such as the Wonderful Website Workshop enjoyed before Christmas. It is also a group that will be used for advice on a number of issues and will support school improvement. Anyone is welcome at the meetings and you will always get a warm welcome.
Feel free to chat to me about any of these at the gates or if you think you can support the school in any way. Thank you for all your help and support in giving the children at our school the very best education.
This afternoon a number of parents visited school to attend the Wonderful Website Workshop which was led by the Parent Champion Group and our Year 6 pupils. The children gave the parents a tour of the school as well as a workshop telling them all about our wonderful new website. Also parents had the oportunity to chat with each other over a drink and some cake which was kindly organised by our Parent Champion Group.
Please comment on the afternoon using the comments section as shown to you by our Year 6! We'll see who has done their homework?!!
Just a reminder that the Parent Champion Group are running a Wonderful Website Workshop this Friday at 1:30pm. This is an opportunity for the Year 6 children to show you the website and the range of activities available on it. Also, a group of year 6 children will give you a guided tour. As well as this the Parent Champion group have been busy preparing cakes to serve you alongside tea and coffee. I would love to see a great turnout for this event as it will give you an insight into all the wonderful work the children are doing and you will be able to admire the stunning displays of children's work. The event is open to all so if you have replied you are in! If you can come drop a note to the office, complete the reply slip, give me a call or let me know at the gates so I can give the group an idea for catering. Thank you for your support for what promises to be a wonderful occasion.
