Class 2 Home Learning - Friday 3rd July
Happy Friday Class 2 and Yellow Bubble!
Today, we'd like you to have some Friday fun with our food theme! It's time to go Madbury for Cadbury as the chocolatier launches this year's competition to design your own Dairy Milk bar. Just visit Cadbury Inventor to enter. Simply choose your ingredients and name your bar! Your parents will need to enter your design themselves but you could have fun with your family at home taste-testing combinations of ingredients and brainstorming names. What are your family's favourite flavours? You could try to use alliteration or humour to make the name of your bar super catchy. Happy experimenting and happy eating! Obviously, we always encourage healthy eating but a chocolatey experiment every now and then is fine... isn't it?!
If you'd like to experiment with ingredients and flavour but your parents don't wish to enter the Cadbury competition, why not try Friday's writing activity from the project below? The challenge is to design a new milkshake... delicious! Consider the ingredients you need to include, which ingredients work well together and an exciting name for the milkshake. You could even test out your creation and think about improvements. We'd love to hear how you get on so please do send in photos of your recipes!
We are encouraging all parents to use the package the BBC is providing through the Bitesize website. Links to other effective resources will be posted, such as the Oak National Academy. Please do not feel you have to do everything, we want to help, not overload.
Maths: Challenges for Year 2
Design Technology: Sources of energy
The BBC has also begun super programmes that air on CBBC each day at 9.25 and on iPlayer called Celebrity Supply Teacher. Today's episode is a look back at a busy term on Celebrity Supply Teacher and some stand-out moments from a staffroom of superstars. We highly recommend!
For those struggling with internet or computer access, the BBC is also providing daily lessons through the red button on your TV remote and iPlayer.
Oak National Academy
Today, The Oak National Academy is looking at how to write a non-chronological text in English, know division facts for the 4 x table in Maths and how create a sculpture focused on reusable materials in DT in the wider curriculum.
Look what I found Mrs MacDonald and Class 2 - the next instalment of the Dragons Love Tacos story! Please enjoy and let us know what your favourite parts in the stories are.
Please continue to share your work, as we are looking at it and looking forward to seeing it.
