This week, as part of Road Safety week, we have been looking at these road safety adverts:
We thought about why hedgehogs were used in the advert, which led us to read some of the book 'The Hodgeheg' by Dick King Smith. We have also started to read some factual information about hedgehogs and we are looking forward to finding out more this week.
Can you help your classmates and write 3 hedgehog facts? Or find a really good hedgehog website and let us have a copy of the weblink so we can visit it too? You will get a merit for your comment.
Hedgehogs can only see in cream or brown colours.
Hedgehogs will roll up into a tight ball if they are frightened.
Hedgehogs hibernate in the winter in the UK.

Hedgehogs are nocturnal, they come out at night time.
They eat worms which means they are a carnivore.
They can't see very well with their eyes so they use their long noses to sense their way.
