Giant pandas certainly are giant. They are 4 to 5 feet tall and weigh up to 300 Lbs.

The diet of a giant panda is made up of mainly bamboo, they can eat between 25-30 pounds of bamboo in one day. In the spring, they may eat 100 pounds in a day! A giant panda can peel and eat a bamboo shoot in 40 seconds!

A baby panda is called a cub and when it is born it is pink, hairless and blind, he does not open his eyes until he is 6-8 weeks old, and it not mobile until he is 3 months.

Unlike most other bears, giant pandas don't hibernate. In the Winter they go lower down the mountains where it is warmer.
