We will miss you Class 6!

We said goodbye yesterday to our amazing children in Year 6. However, you never really leave Smalley and we look forward to welcoming the children and parents back in the future to see what wonderful things they are achieving. We also hope they will keep in touch via the school website.

They have been such a brilliant class and as well as their academic, sporting and music success they are also a group of kind, caring children who we are incredibly proud of.

Have a wonderful summer year 6!

We will miss you Class 6!

Class 3 is now a building site!

Enjoy looking at the pictures of class 3! As soon as the children left we were busy emptying the classroom waiting for the office conversion to start!

By the time you come back in September I hope you will notice a real difference!

53 Marathons in 53 Days!

Our children have been helping a special lady take part in a world record attempt.

Amy Hughes will be running 53 marathons in 53 days beginning on the 6th August in Chester!

She will run in cities across the UK and will arrive in Nottingham on 23rd August for number 18 and number 19 in Derby on the 24th August. I will place details on the website for anyone who wants to come and meet Amy and support her, maybe run a mile with her too?!

Our children have designed a running bib for each day with messages to spur her on. We are so proud to have played a small part in this world record attempt.

Amy is aiming to raise lots of money £53000 for a very worthwhile charity called Izzy's foundation. A link to her page is below.

Anybody who would like to support in any way please contact Mr Crawford.

You can follow Amy and her journey on twitter @53marathons or find her on facebook.

Perfect Picnic

Thank you, Class 3, for an absolutely wonderful picnic today. I enjoyed myself so much that I didn't have time to take photos, sorry about that. I hope you've all had a lovely afternoon as well.

Calling all our lovely parents, carers, neighbours and friends - we would love your help.

I'd like to create an audio cd resource bank for our school. Please, if you have any story cd's that you would like to donate we would be very grateful.

Some examples of these could include; Roald Dahl stories or Paddington Bear (you may even have some of the promotional ones that you get free in the Sunday papers).

 Thank you   Clipart1

Class 4's trip to the park on Monday 21st July

Yesterday we had a lovely morning at the park as Class 4's parrot-time reward.

We have had a great year and they have been a pleasure to teach. I wish them all the best for next year and hope they all have a fantastic summer.
