Hot House Concert

We had a fabulous evening on Saturday as we hosted the Hot House Jazz Band Screaming Kicks.

Around 75 people witnessed a stunning sound by some very talented musicians. It was great to see our very own gifted ex-pupil Oliver Mason on the piano and guitar.

Thank you to Mrs Mason for organising the evening, Mrs Boyles and Charlotte Mason for organising the raffle and special thanks to Mrs Shaw and Mrs Evans for setting the hall up, organising the refreshments and preparing the amazing platters for the evening.

What a brilliant night and great opportunity to have fantastic live music in our village school.

Team Eddy Assembly

Earlier on in the term we had a very special assembly in school to present the money raised by Team Eddy.

We raised a phenomenal amount of money which was very close to £20000! This was ten times the amount of our original target! This was raised through the half marathon, mile for eddy race in school, a charity clay pigeon shoot plus many more kind donations.

£10,654 of the cash raised has been donated to the Bone Cancer Research Trust (BCRT) and £8,470 has been given to Eddy's parents to help adapt their home and support the family following his treatment.

Eddy’s mum, Claudia Kassner, said: “We will always be eternally grateful for the support of the school, it is quite overwhelming and we just can’t say thank-you enough for what the fundraisers have done for Eddy.”

A picture of the cheque presentation is below. A massive thank you to all involved. A very special assembly that will live long in the memory and most importantly it was lovely to have Eddy back in school with his lovely smile and cheeky grin!

E-Safety Workshop

Last week our parent champion group ran 2 workshops about E-Safety.

There was a fabulous turnout with 48 parents attending the 2 sessions.

A massive thank you to Kate Bridgett, Tim Holligshurst and Chris Ufton from our school community who delivered two superb sessions. The feedback was very positive and it is something we may repeat next year.

Thank you also to Brigitte Barnes for making such delicious cakes and the rest of the Parent Champion Group for their support.

Thank you to our wonderful Y6 children who came to support and advise at the sessions.

Any questions for our experts please post as a comment below.

Another wonderful day at our school!

Being kind and feeling brilliant!

We all love our kind school!

Smiley

Yesterday was 'Random Act of Kindness Day'

In each of the classes the children and staff  spoke about many ways in which they had demonstrated kindness at school and home.

It was really lovely to hear many of the children's acts.

  • I helped my dad put a plaster on his finger this morning.
  • I put toothpaste on my little sister's toothbrush
  • I made my bed without being asked.
  • I helped my brother look for his new watch.

Aaaaaahhhhh my favourite one was when a little boy told me he had peeled an orange for his friend because he couldn't do it!
