Team 2 were so excited before their wonderful performance in assembly this morning and indeed very proud after the assembly.

Mrs Rhodes and I would like to say a very BIG WELL DONE - we're so proud of how you took responsibility for learning your words, holding up your cards and pictures and singing beautifully.

We wish you all a very happy and safe half term and look forward to seeing you on Monday, 5th November.

Packing for Padley!

Padley Logo

It was indeed a special moment as the children sang 'Song of Gratitude' and presented their Harvest gifts; the table was bursting with generous offerings for the Padley Centre in Derby.  Mrs Dean spoke to the children about the work of the Padley Centre and how the food and toiletries would help many homeless people.

Thank you again everyone for your generosity.

Harvest Assembly - Thank You!

A massive thank you to all parents, grandparents, friends and visitors for the unbelievable turnout for the Harvest Assembly. We definitely need a bigger hall for Christmas!

Thank you to all the staff for their dedication again. We are very lucky to have such a wonderful group of people in our school that 'go the extra mile' for our children. Thank you also to Mrs. Reckless for co-ordinating the event brilliantly.

Finally,  thank you to our children, the assembly was stunning and you all performed beautifully.

900 Comments-WOW!

Congratulations to Elyse L for putting the 900th Comment on the school website. Please see me today for your prize.

The website is only a year old so to have 900 comments in such a short space of time is an amazing achievement.

Please keep up the good work. Your positive comments on our children's work give them such a boost. Do you think we can make it to 1000 before Christmas?

Also a big HELLO to Flynn in Australia who put on comment 899 to congratulate his friends in Year 6. We hope you are all well Flynn and having a wonderful time. I am so pleased you are keeping in touch this way. We all miss you.

Smalley Stars-Athletics Final

Our superstars competed tonight in the Amber Valley Athletics Finals. The skill and determination on display made me incredibly proud to be headteacher of such an amazing group of children. They also were ambassadors for our school because of their sporting attitude.

The children came 3rd, a fantastic effort and won a beautiful trophy. Who needs Usain Bolt, Mo Farrah or Jessica Ennis?!

A massive thank you to our wonderful staff Mrs Shaw, Mrs Evans and Mrs Bacon for giving up their time to train and take the children after school.

Also thank you as always to the parents for your support. I am sure you are all very proud.

What a fantastic event.

Class 4 Holiday Homework Task

Your homework task for the holiday is to produce a piece of work that explains and expresses the meaning and origins of Bonfire Night.

REMEMBER BE CREATIVE!

This should be brought to school, to be shared with the rest of the class, on Wednesday 7th November.

I would also like to wish you all a happy holiday.  Have fun and I will see you on Monday 5th November, all rested and ready for the remainder of this term.
