Thank You

The Ofsted Inspection Team have asked me to thank all the parents for responding to their questionnaire. Your views are incredibly valuable and they appreciate them.

Can I also say on behalf of our School Team a big thank you for returning the questionnaires so soon after our March Parents Survey?

The inspectors will write the report and then it will be published no later than 15 working days.  I will let the parents have the report as soon as we get it in school.

Thanks again.

Let's celebrate-jubilee mugs.

Mrs Walker and Mr Shaw from our village church came into assembly on Tuesday to tell the children about the special gift the church has organised for them.

The children were presented with special mugs to celebrate the Queens Jubilee. The children were incredibly excited taking these mugs home last night!

Our Year 6 pupils were also presented with a gift from the Kerry Family of a special version of the bible with a jubilee cover.

Thank you Mrs. Walker and the church for organising this.

Let's celebrate-jubilee mugs.

A Royal Message!

Dear Class 2,

I was so overwhelmed to discover that your school had a quiz all about me on this website. What a super idea! A special thank you to the children that have written posts.I've heard that people all over the UK are having a party to celebrate my Diamond Jubilee, are you having a party?

Kind Regards

Summer Fayre - what an amazing day!

We had an amazing summer fayre on Saturday with a bumper turnout at school. The sun was shining and thanks to the hard work of the PTFA we had a wide range of stalls including fun games such as 'hook a duck', beautiful luxury cakes, other firms that had come to join us and music playing with an outside disco. On the field was an inflatable slide and the races which were kindly organised by Smalley Lawn Tennis Club. The Clown entertained all the children with his balloon making skills and our staff were kept very busy on the barbecue and refreshments.

A massive thank you to all the PTFA and parents that helped to support this event. It raises valuable money for resources for the school and we are so grateful. Thanks also to Smalley Lawn Tennis Club for doing such a good job with the races. A Big Thank you to all those that turned up to support the event or sold raffle tickets, without you there would be no Summer Fayre. The PTFA will let everyone know how much was raised and what the final total was.

I thoroughly enjoyed the Fayre although I don't want to see a sausage or bacon cob for a while!! I look forward to seeing you all at the next event. Enjoy the video below with some highlights!

The Queen's Diamond Jubilee Quiz

To celebrate the wonderful occasion of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee, we thought we would create a Queen fact file.  Simply add a comment which tells us a fact about Queen Elizabeth II.

For every comment that is posted by Friday, 1st June 2012 there will be a prizewhich will be handed out during assembly.

100% effort - well done Team 2!

Everyone in Class 2 got a chance to take centre stage in our special Key Stage 1 Gold Book last Friday morning. Mrs Rhodes and I wanted to say a BIG well done and thank you for all of the SUPER hard work during assessment week - everyone tried their very best and did so with a lot of determination and a willingness to give it their all. We also wanted to congratulate the children for all of the wonderful topic work that they have completed this term.

Board Games Fun!

Here are some of the children from Class 2 enjoying their last Board Games club for this term.  The children got to choose their favourite board game from home to share with their friends.  We have had lots of fun - thank you to the 16 children who attended every week.

Class 1 children it's your turn next half term - look out for the letter next week confirming the dates and time.

Our visit to church.

Last week the whole school went to church to enjoy the flower show and learn about how Christians celebrate Ascension Day. It was a wonderful site to see 175 children walk through the village both 100_2489
to and from church. Year 6 did a great job of looking after their buddies and keeping them safe on our busy main road. Thank you year 6, once again you made me a very proud teacher!

Olympic flowers for all to enjoy!

Bells made by pupils of Heanor Gate Science College.

A lovely visit for everyone - Many thanks to all at Saint John the Baptist Church.

Top Riddlers!

Today the children have worked independently to create their own riddles. We hope you enjoy listening to them as much as we have.
