Creative Art in Class 5!

As part of our work in RE, on religions in other cultures, Class 5 enjoyed an afternoon with Miss Russell, creating colourful Rangoli patterns for their prayer mat designs.

Originating from Hinduism, Rangoli patterns are usually made from household items, like rice and flour, and are created during the time of festivals, such as Diwali. The designs are usually geometric but may also be floral, using flower petals to decorate them.

Class 5 collected lots of household items, like bottle tops and lids, and recycled these when creating their amazing designs. Here are some examples of their beautiful artwork.
